A Lawrenceburg man has been arrested for allegedly molesting a family member. The 53-year-old man has been charged with a class A felony of child molesting and a class C felony of child molesting, according to court documents filed by Indiana State Police Detective Glen Potts. At the time of the alleged molestation the girl was 7. Potts observed an interview with the girl at the Region 15 Child Advocacy Center in Dillsboro, where she told the interviewer the man had touched her, according to an affidavit filed by Potts. The child also told the interviewer the family member told her not to tell anyone about it, and it occurred at his house. In an interview with ISP Sgt. Tom Baxter, the man told police he hadn’t touched her. In a later interview the man was advised of his rights and signed a waiver, according to the affividavit. The man “initially denied having touched” the girl, however, “later admitted to your affiant that he had touched” the girl, according to the affidavit.
