The Aurora, Greendale and Lawrenceburg fire departments have issued a ban on open burning due to dry conditions within their fire districts, including the cities of Aurora, Greendale and Lawrenceburg as well as all of Center, Lawrenceburg and Washington townships. The bans are in effect immediately and will continue indefinitely, said Fire Chiefs Shannon Craig, Jeff Lane, Johnnie Tremain.

The ban only covers open fires, charcoal and gas grills can be used, they said.

As of Friday, June 29, there is no countywide burn ban, said Dearborn County Emergency Management Director Bill Black.

Black urges county residents to use common sense and refrain from open fires and fireworks over the coming holiday.
