Raymond Harold Ballard, 69, of Manchester, Ind., formerly of Lawrenceburg, Ind., passed away at 3:45 a.m, Wednesday, Feb. 3, at Dearborn County Hospital, Lawrenceburg. Raymond was born in Rising Sun, Ind., on May 15, 1940, a son of the late Edith (Cochran) and John William Ballard. On 06/02/1967 he married Rita (Toler) Ballard who survives him. He worked as a laborer at Seagrams Distillery in Lawrenceburg, for 30 years. He retired in 1995. Raymond was a member of the Manchester Church of Christ and the Aurora Eagles. In addition to his wife Rita, Raymond is survived by two daughters, Raema, wife of Patrick Schwing, of Aurora, Ind.; Tammy, wife of David Frye, of Baltimore, Md.; a son, Raymond "Renny" Ballard, of Manchester, Ind.; He is also survived by 7 grandchildren. Raymond is also survived by a sister, Mary Ann Schmerre, of Fayetteville, Ohio. a brother, Harry Ballard, of Sunman, Ind.; Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, a son, John Olin Ballard in 1998, by brothers, Harlan and Verle Ballard, and by a sister, Norma Jean Kelly. Funeral service at Markland Funeral Home, Rising Sun, at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, with David Frye officiating. Friends are invited to call Friday 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Markland Funeral Home. Interment at Cedar Hedge Cemetery Rising Sun. Memorial donations may be made to the Family. |

Funeral services for Brenton Earl “Brent” Hopper, 44, Harrison, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 5, 2010, at the Miami Whitewater United Methodist Church, Harrsion, with burial in Glen Haven Cemetery, Harrison. Visitation is 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5, at the church. Jackman Kercheval Meyers Funeral Home, Harrison, was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Hopper died Monday, Feb. 1, in Cincinnati. He is survived by his wife, Jennifer; his mother, Carlotta "Connie" Hopper; children, Quinn, Bradley and Theresa Hopper, and siblings Kimberly Owens, Melenee Mackey and Jennifer Hopper. |

Funeral services for Lilly A. Dixon,101, Milan, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, at Milan Wesleyan Church, with burial in Cliff Hill Cemetery, Versailles. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5, at Laws-Carr-Moores Funeral Home, Milan. Mrs. Dixon died Tuesday, Feb. 2, at The Waters of Batesville. She is survived by a son, Olus Dixon Jr., Milan, and three daughters, Carol Sullender, Anderson, June Jackson, Marion, and Mary Ann Harwell, Louisville. |

Christina Marie “Tina” Shuter, 51, of Aurora, Ind., died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010, in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was born Wednesday, July 16, 1958, in Batesville, Ind., Daughter of the late Loren Shuter and the late Christine Theiman Shuter. Tina was a Lifetime member of St. John Lutheran Church, Aurora, and was also a member of the Lutheran Womens’ Missionary League. She enjoyed bowling with ARC, collecting Angels, coupons and other items. Tina had a sweet gentle spirit and will be greatly missed by all. Surviving are Brother, Edward (Sara) Shuter of Westport, Ind.; Sisters, Rita (Robert) Sullivan of Baileys Harbor, Wis., Loraine (Larry) Rumsey of Moores Hill, Ind., Nancy (Phil) Cords of Newark, Del., and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Loren and Christine Shuter, Niece, Mary Jane Day and Nephews, Chris Shuter and Zachary Coomer. Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, Aurora. Services will be held at the Church 2 p.m., Saturday, immediately following visitation, with Pastor Edward A. Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Aurora. Contributions may be made to the St. John Lutheran Church or Relay For Life - Team MJ.
